Gabriel Palatchi

Pregledana je i predstavljena na magazinu Rolling Stone, Latin Jazz Network, Ejazznews, All About Jazz, Jazz Caribe, The Toronto Star, Salsa Son Timba Kolumbija, Newstime Južna Afrika i Inside World Music među mnogim drugim.

Ivana Vukmirovic, who performs under the artistic name of Manivi, is a composer living and creating in Belgrade. The beginning of her music career dates back to her early childhood, as music interest has always been an important part of her personality. She was 11 years old, when she learned enough cords on piano and guitar to write her own poem. That was the moment when her developmental path changed direction, and she has been composing since, being aware that musical creativity is a bridge between her inner and outer world.

The debut album, which is simply called Manivi, was released in 2016 by the Lampshade Media publishing house. The album consists of nine tracks in English which were played live in a studio, so each of the participants in the recording process gave their own unique stamp to the music. Collaboration with excellent jazz / soul musicians, compatible with musical sensibility, has brought diversity and unusual beauty to this album. This interaction, like magic, is passed on to the audience, and this is just one of the reasons why they always come back to their performances.

The Manivi band gathered of some of the most eminent musicians in the region:
Pedja Milutinovic- drum (Vasil Hadžimanov band, Quzama, Shime Trio)
Dragan Ćalina – keyboards (Prof. piano studied at the prestigious conservatory in Amsterdam)
Dejan Antovic-bass (Balkanopolis, Octave Listner)

The texts are autobiographical, and the themes are related to common life matters through which we all pass on our life journey. Manivi writes about social issues, about the pressure of modern times, and about love and intimacy. Her music is a mixture of pop sound, soul / funk with the elements of modern jazz.
She graduated from the lower music school, a solo singing department, after which she enrolled in jazz singing at the secondary music school “Stankovic” in Belgrade. After the high school, she enrolled at the Faculty of Music Arts in Belgrade, where she studies jazz and popular music. She actively performs and teaches music.
